Karen Herbert trained as an image consultant with Colour Me Beautiful. Initially doing this part-time around her other work, Karen finally committed to it as a full-time career in March 2007, setting up Colour Me Beautiful Ayrshire, and winning an award for her work that same year.

Karen is a qualified accountant with an MBA, whose corporate life in the City ran alongside her lifelong interest in fashion and image. Karen has studied Couture, gained a City & Guilds in Fashion and Design, studied and worked alongside a variety of image specialists and stylists, both in the UK and America.

Karen is an Affiliate member of The Federation of Image Consultants (tfic), and a committe member of the Ayshire Association of Business Women (AABW).

With a post-graduate diploma in journalism, and many years spent teaching presentation skills, Karen is regularly seen on the local speaker circuit, and has been published in a variety of magazines.

Karen was not blessed with a drop-dead gorgeous face, and is a typical UK pear-shape, with a size 14/16 body, and all the usual droopy and wobbly bits! As a director of Colour Me Beautiful said when Karen won her award in 2008, she is 'normal', not a glamorous model-type. Karen understands the need to hide the bits that upset you, and the tricks of looking your best, because she has to use them every day.
